BioSatoshi Hiwatari is a calm and collected individual, who's extremely uncaring to the what happens around him or about the people hanging around him. He's also intelligent beyond his years, even graduated from college at the age of 13. Even though he did so he still goes to Middle School in an attempt to lead a normal life. The reason he is so cold is probably because of his alter ego, Krad, a homicidal yet polite being that is the Dark Mousy's "evil twin". Satoshi wears glasses, but he doesn't need them, he has perfect vision and his observation skils are excellent. He always seems to be taking notes, mostly about Daisuke it seems, probably having to do with the fact Daisuke is Dark.
Satoshi biological mother was Rio Hikari, and his adoptive father is a 26-year old police officer that the Head of the Department. Satoshi was placed as the high commander in charge of the capture of Dark, due to his family history he's a wee bit obsessive with catching the phantom thief. He even went so far as to dress as a female gaurd to try and pray on Dark's weakness towards women, however Dark wasn't fooled by the disguise. Satoshi also is easily annoyed by Dark's arrogance and over confident nature. Satoshi's obsession does however have one exception, and that's when Dark steals something not belonging to the Hikari's.
Krad, meantioned before, is Satoshi's alter ego, much like Dark is Daisuke's. However, their relationship is nothing like Dark and Daisuke's. Satoshi loathes Krad, just like his entire family did/does. It's uncertain exactly what triggers Krad's transformation sequence but he first transformed when Satoshi captured Dark in a mirror(forgot the name) and was feeling sorry about Daisuke. So it's likely the transformation has to do with Satoshi's relationship with Daisuke. It's noted that everytime Krad comes out Satoshi's glasses either fall off or he takes them off when in intense pain that comes before Krad's release is, therefor the glasses may be some "symbolic" way of fighting Krad. At one point Dark said that if Krad kept using his powers his host would die, thus leaving his body free for Krad to control.
Krad has a intense desire to destroy Dark. He'll kill anyone that stands in his way. Even after Dark was captured in the mirror and Krad first came forth he immediately went to strangle Daisuke even when Dark wasn't in him. Though Krad has a need to eliminate Dark he's also very polite and formal in his speech. Also, even though Satoshi hates Krad, he's very possesive of Satoshi, even calling him "Satoshi-sama" or "My everything". In truth all he really wants is Satoshi's body, he doesn't care if Satoshi dies even as long as his body is intact for him to possess.
Even though he's cold and uncaring he has befriended Daisuke or at least it seems like he has. He himself is also extremely popular with the females, save the Harada twins Risa and Riku. At points it seemed like he also likes Risa or at least is friendly towards her, even to the point where Krad won't hurt Risa. Other than these two it seems like he has no interest with anyone or anything else. He ignore people to such an extent that he's actually passive, as he let Saehara just waltz into his place and make food when Daisuke came to drop off something to Satoshi when he was "sick".
